State College of Florida is currently hiring a part time ceramics/sculpture lab assistant for their Bradenton campus beginning January 2013. Candidates must apply online at scf.edu under “employment” and qualified candidates will be chosen for interview.
SCF Ceramics/Sculpture Studio boasts excellent facilities including:
- 3 electric kilns
- 1 65 ft3 Blauuw Gas Kiln
- 1 60 ft3 Bailey Gas Kiln
- 1 Salt Kiln
- 1 Raku Kiln
- 20 Wheels
- 1 table saw
- 2 Large Industrial Sanders
- 2 Industrial Band Saws
- Welding Machines
- Plasma Cutter
Mandatory Requirements:
- The ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly, including loading and unloading kilns, moving of clay and raw materials
- High school diploma
Preferred Requirements:
- Ceramic Background: BFA, MFA; non-academic experience in the ceramics field will be considered
- Familiarity with loading electric and gas kilns
- Glaze making and safety standards
- Ability to keep studio clean for over 200 students weekly
