One of the days during the 2nd week of “Fun-Tastic” Summer Art Camp, the students created personalized stepping stones with memorabilia for their family. From left, Piper Hanson (7), Vaughan Phillips (6), Natalie File (8), Sarah Uecker (7), Mya Hanson (6).
Instructor Alicia Radefeld, seated in the center holding a book with samples of Coat of Arms, taught the “Fun-Tastic” Summer Art Class students to create their own family Coat of Arms shields. Each child placed their family name on their own shield and decided which colors and symbols they wanted to use to represent their family origin. Alicia Radefeld explained about what each color represented and what the symbols stood for from past history.
The “Fun-Tastic” Summer Art Camp students took time out to artistically decorate sugar cookies donated from Perkins Bakery & Restaurant in North Port, for Father’s Day gifts.
